5 shows, 2 weeks,1 venue. Garry Hynes of Druid Theatre Company on West Coast Cool: ‘An initiative such as West Coast Cool demonstrates that Galway based theatre practitioners are ambitious, innovative and resourceful.  Galway is a great breeding ground for this new wave of theatre makers and I am really pleased ABSOLUT Fringe are providing a much needed platform for this very exciting programme.’

Róise Goan, Festival Director of the ABSOLUT Fringe on West Coast Cool: ‘From our western shores, comes a new breed of theatre. Across the 5 show, you will find some of the most exciting new voices in Irish performance. They do not share an aesthetic or thematic focus, what they do share, in our view, is attitude, and one that is wholly different from their PALEr counterparts.’

This season of work from Galway will run in Smock Alley Studio, Dublin for the duration of the festival (8th-23rd September). West Coast Cool will bring the full gamut of emotion and themes to the Fringe: magic from Moonfish, political commentary from Side-show, historical snapshots from Lithium and while Martin Sharry question identity, Waterdonkey presents legends and virtual reality side-by-side. The West is definitely awake!
