Galway Youth Orchestra will give the last concert of its 30th Anniversary year

orchestra galGalway Youth Orchestra will give the last concert of its 30th Anniversary year in the Black Box Theatre, Galway on Saturday, December 15th at 8pm. One hundred and thirty young musicians will play a range of classical and popular music under the direction of conductors Michael Dooley, Joanne Cater, Peter Berrill and John Fleming.In addition to its three classical orchestras , the Youth Jazz Orchestra will also perform. GYO which draws its players from throughout Galway City and County rehearses in St. Mary’s College Galway and in Scoil Einde in Salthill. Putting on their first performance since getting together in September is an exciting event for all the young musicians and promises to be an enjoyable concert. GYO will be joined on the night by guests the Galway Brass Ensemble . The mellifluous sounds created by this local group featuring Pat Jones, Martin Mannion, Martin Murray, Michael Dooley and Peter Berrill Jr are not to be missed. Tickets 10 euro /8 euro concession can be purchased through the Town Hall Box office or at the door on the night.
